I'm a solitary Wiccan who drops in on public rituals once and a while. I'm a vegetarian into animal activism and enviromental causes. I'm not really all that outgoing but I'm getting there. ^^'

Anyone who knows me knows that I like to sign for various internet communities and services. (Like Covenspace. :p) Maybe more things that one needs to sign up for. I have usernames and passwords enough for who knows how many people. This one may actually be useful.
Now you all can wander over to my Library Thing Profile and see all the books I have read or am reading from today on. I may from time to time go through my personal library and add books I have read and review them, but for now I'll be sticking to things I am reading at the moment.
For the lazy I have added a widget at the side to show ya'll what I am reading at the moment.
I hope you all enjoy seeing a little bit more of what makes me tick. :p
Looks like Monday has officially become Belly Dance Class day. I loved my class. The teacher was super friendly and gave me lots of feedback, which I really need. One of the reasons I never went back to yoga class was the utter lack of any feed back. The studio was small, but nice. Clean and well decorated with a cute little change room. (it's too cold here to walk about in work out clothes)
She said she was confident that with time belly dance would help me lose what I call "The Buddha Belly". I really want to tone up my core, which is the last thing left of my post accident pudge. She also said it would help my posture (which is terrible!) and help me feel more graceful.
So now I'm on the "New Hobby Shopping Spree" And what shopping it is with all the pretty music and clothes. :) I bought a CD off of iTunes ($8 and change is a steal for a CD. I pay $7 - 8 for used CDs) and I ordered a pretty hip belt off of eBay. Shaggy thought it was really pretty too.
I'd like to get a full length mirror and a book soon, but I want to see if I can find dance move descriptions online. I really just need a refresher between classes and I'd really like to practice at home.
'Cause we all know, in anything, practice makes perfect. :)
Went to a nice little Indian restaurant called North of Bombay. I loved the decor and mentally took notes for when we move. (My living room has an Indio-Asian theme) I got a nice little mushroom dish that was a little spicy for me, but with bread tasted yummy. I'll just have to portion in out for my sensitive stomach.
Shaggy, my husband, got a shrimp curry that judging by how quick he ate it, he liked a lot.
I'm all excited about Monday. I'm taking my first belly dancing class at the studio down the street. I'll tell you all how it goes.
This just seems to be my year of trying new things.
To build upon my last home making rant, I seem to have some strange sort of motivation to keep my home clean and I have no clue where it is coming from. I'm actually getting a whole lot of motivation to do a lot of things I've been meaning to do but never get around to. You know, that Aquarian laziness that keeps us on our buts with a nose in a book all the time. :P
But now suddenly my kitchen is clean (and has been since Sunday, a record I swear!) the rest of my home is OK, I've been keeping up with my yoga and tarot daily draws and even added some Reiki and energy work to the end of my yoga. And this is on top of what will be a 3 day work week. Anyone who knows me well, knows that this is super out of character for me.
I've been tempted to slip, but in the end these are things I want and I think eventually they'll settle in. Kinda like when I got myself into the habit of doing daily ritual.
Though I must say it is very coinincidental that this happened after some work I did with Hearth aspect of The Brigid. Though I tend to stick with the Greek Pantheon, she was invoked at a public Imbolc ritual I attended. Though I don't like to pantheon mix outside of public ritual I do find that if I click with something from an outside pantheon I typically can direct myself to a similar energy within the Greek Pantheon.
So now I'm doing research on Hestia, and I'm liking what I'm reading. I'm thinking of setting up a small kitchen shrine to her, and I do have a few little wooden shrine boxes just calling to be used. Not something I want to jump into super quick that's for sure, but I certainly feel like I'm heading in the right direction.
And why don't we have any sites of our own? With pretty smiling Martha Stewart clones showing us how to arrange our ritual candles by colour and purpose?
Though I do work, I usually only work 1-3 days a week, 3 being very rare. I identify more as a home maker then as someone in the work force. But I'm a terrible home maker. I've just started getting the hang of keeping my home clean (and I still have only been able 3 out of 4 rooms decent at any one given time. :( ) let alone oraginzed and do it in such a way that doesn't take up my whole life.
I didn't exactly plan on being a home maker. It was kind of a freak accident. And well, my mother wasn't the best at keeping house either.
There are plenty of home making sites out there but it's hard enough finding a secular one let alone a Pagan one. I'd love to find a place where I can find all kinds of handy hints and tips about how to run a calm, clean, organized, and serene magical household.
There are plenty of wonderful Kitchen Witch sites out there but I want something that goes beyond the kitchen. That and anyone who has tasted my cooking will tell you I'm not exactly working any succesful magic in the kitchen. :(
I want to find the Lynette Jennings of Pagan Homemaking. Is that so much to ask?
